Welcome to this edition of Industry Insights by Vicissitudes.  In this report we will be looking at the major differences and similarities between macrogeographic regions across the world based on data available from LinkedIn to see who works where and what they primarily do at work with a focus on the executive level.

We have chosen an infographic style of presentation to keep the text to a minimum and allow readers to draw more of their own conclusions.  Commentary is intended only to draw attention to some of the key points along the way.

In the course of this document we will lay out how many executives work in each region, how that number is changing, what industries they primarily work in, what roles they play, their top specializations, and in some cases, the female share of executives. This last point is intended to highlight gender imbalances which are lamentably common in business activities in the hopes of encouraging positive change.  In subsequent reports we expect to explore specific industries and regions in more depth.  We welcome suggestions on where to focus.  Let us know your thoughts.
